trouble sharing a printer

I want to share a printer attached to a computer on my network. The two computers are on the same network and when i click add printer and follow the steps.  I choose browes for printer and it will find the printer i want to but it will not connect.  It suggests that the printer is not comunicating with its host or that the printer name is miss spelled. 

 

I checked to see that i could print from the printers host computer and it printed fine.

 

I checked the properties of the printer it is shared and i made note of the shared name which was a shortened version and manually typed in the shared name and still it will not print.

 

any ideas.
