Trouble with 1184
All of a sudden my 1184 won't work. The connection between the router and the pc is fine but the connection between the router and the modem isn't working. The modem works fine as a stand alone - I can plug my pc directly into the modem and have access. Resets of all devices hasn't worked. I have the most recent firmware (as far as I can tell). Any suggestions?
Please help somebody.

I had this problem last week, a TM 1184 router all of a sudden did not let through any internet connection, not e´ven the web-interface of the router itself.
I resetted the router (hard reset!) and installed it new from the CD, which failed twice (shortly before the end, when verifying the internet connectivity with the configured router.)Then I went to the "properties" of the broadband connection which I had created to connect to my ISP and disbled the "use Windows firewall" checkmark. I ran the router installation wizard again, again it failed but in the end I was able to reach the web-interface again, http://my.router, and finally the router worked again, as if nothing had happened..Strange behavior, tho..

First: What kind of internet connection do you have: Cable or DSL?
Second: Who's the manufacturer of your modem? There are some modems where in they could act like a router or they called a modem/router. (e.g Westell, speedstream, 2wire, arescom..etc)
Third: Flash your firmware or better yet, update it AGAIN. Sometimes when you download the firmware it gets corrupted. So when you uploaded to your router, it not fully functional.
Fourth: Reset router for 1-2mins.
Last: Call dell and have them replace it if all else fails... hehehe

We have cable modem. I've used this router for a long time with this same modem so that isn't the problem.
