I usually uninstall my wireless software in control panel>add|remove programs before installing an updated driver.

I am also having the same issue with this 3945ABG - I can not find a person to help me / still searching. I've contacted Dell rep and Intel rep >> they are working on a case but you should do the same b/c this is a major issue.

Hm...okay, well, I tried uninstalling the old driver, and the new one reinstalled alright, but...no, it's still not working.

Yeah, I contacted Dell about the problem, but they said that it wasn't covered under my warranty and I'd have to pay them 140 bucks. I don't see that happening in the near future, I'm flat broke as it is. I'm almost considering seeing if I can return the darn thing and buying something else...too bad, really. I mean, on paper, this laptop is GREAT, perfect for what I need. But when it comes to its actual performance....well, I just think it hates me. Anyways. Thanks for the advice anyways, people, and hopefully I'll still find some sort of way to get this fixed....
