I have done this in the past but using a wired router.... same principle..

What I did was to dedicate one of my computers to dial the internet connection.  I then allowed other computers to connect to the internet through this connection.  I also set it to dial whenever another computer tries to connect to the internet.

I also had to set up a LAN so that the computers could see each other...

One setback is that the host ( dialing computer ) must be on in order for the others to connect.

It took me awhile to setup at the time, but once you get it, you'll see that it isnt too hard..

It doesn't matter whether it's a desktop + laptop or a desktop + desktop or a laptop + laptop.

can you have this same type of set up with a desktop & laptop?  I only have dialup...nothing else is available where I live. Wanted to get a laptop but don't know how to make all this work with both computers.

Any suggestions?
