Two Network Connections?

Hi - I have a new Inspiron 6000 with an internal network card. The laptop is also connected to a port replicator, which has an ethernet connection to my router. When I fire it up, I end up with two network connections - both the wireless and the ethernet. I know I can disable one via the Control Panel, but my wife and kids also use the computer, and I want to keep this simple. Are two simultaneous connections a bad thing? When I go to the Internet, how do I know which connection is feeding my browser? Any other thoughts or suggestions on this situation? Thanks for your help.

You could simply turn off your wireless connection using Fn+F2!

When you turn off your wireless card in this way the green light Wifi goes off. You use the same key combination to turn on the card again.
