Ubuntu wireless can't connect to secured network

My Mini9 auto connects to all of the unsecured networks in the neighborhood, but won't connect to my own WEP secured network. I can see my net, I get prompted for the WEP key when I select it. I enter the key and no connection. My router is a Linksys WRT54G.

Are you putting the actual encryption key (either 10 or 26 hexadecimal characters) into the computer, or are you trying to use the Linksys "Passphrase" instead?  If you are using the passphrase that would be the problem.

You can get the encryption key from the router configuration page.

Thanks.  I logged on to the router and got it right.

Usually, by using the web based configuration interface provided by the router itself.  You'd have to check the user manual for your particular router to see exactly how its done, and what hte username/password is (by default).
