Unable to access internet explorer
Need some help here. I am able to connect to the internet without any problem, however once internet explorer is launched I receive a failure message saying that an error has occurred and it is unable to open. Twice now I have went through system restore and this has allowed me temporary access to explorer (about one day), then I have to do it again. Any ideas what could be causing this problem? I have a Dimension 2300, running windows XP. Thanks. Sara

Well I think the winsockxpfix may have done it. Don't think I'll know for sure until I see how it does for the next few days, but after running it, then rebooting, IE opened without any problems. Thanks so much!

How do you know you are connected to the interntet if you can't open Internet Explorer? What kind of internet connection do you have (cable/dsl/dialup)? You might try running winsockfix for XP or, if that doesn't work, try lspfix.
Winsockfix
lspfix
I'm just making a wild guess that one of these will help. If they don't, post more information on how you are connected and what happens when you connect.

I know abosultely nothing about hotmail. Try starting a new thread, since this is a new problem. You message will be much more likely to be noticed if you start a new thread.
