unable to install notebook wireless adapter
My internal wireless card has been dropping connection intermittently so I went out and bought a wireless notebook adapter. I noticed when I insert it in the side of my laptop it sticks out. The power light does not come on and the computer does not prompt me to install new hardware. Should I have removed the previous internal network card before attempting to install the adapter?
I have a dell inspiron e1505.

No, the computer should have no problems with both the internal and PCMCIA (or ExpressCard, for newer systems) wireless cards being installed at the same time.
Did you install the software first, and then put in the card? Also, is the card slot enabled in the BIOS (F2 on boot to check the BIOS settings)? it should be enabled, but it never hurts to double check.

laffect101,
Are you sure you purchased the correct card for your computer? The E1505 has only an Express Card slot. The older PCMCIA cards (although still sold) will not fit securely into the slot and will not work on this system.
