The Truemobile cards are based on the Broadcom chipset.  Did you try the following drivers:

That is the first one I tried. When I pointed the wizard to that folder to where the driver is it just stopped and asked to connect to Windows Update.

Ok I tried two more drivers but it still doesn't want to install. I tried R53005.EXE and R46482.EXE. The R53005 will bring up the installation window and remove the old card and install the new one but still nothing. It doesn't affect the windows driver at all.

Well I tried to manually install a driver and the only wireless card that was on the list was a TrueMobile 1180 MiniPCI card. I installed what driver windows had but it says there is a problem with my device and it doesn't function. I checked the original system config and a wireless card was not on it so this was installed after it was shipped from dell I assume.  Is there another driver for the 1180 that is for the c640?

Ok I got the card working with the drivers from windows. But when I try to update the drivers to the dell ones it uninstalls it to update it but it won't reinstall it with the dell drivers. The Dell drivers just will not work with this card even though before I reinstalled windows it worked fine. The client sotftware for the windows drivers as well. Any reason why it won't update or take the Dell drivers at all?

Sorry, I have no experience with these ancient systems.  My advice is that if you find one that works, don't break it by trying to fix it.

Well I just did a diagnostic test on the card and it said the Control Register and Memory Tests failed. And now it tries to connect to a network then disconnect. Is this the point when I should try to find a TrueMobile 1150 on ebay?

Yes, it sounds like the card is bad.
