Update Router Info.

Hello.  I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop  with Windows XP PRO as well as a Dell Printer.  Both are wireless.  I had to purchase a new router because the one I had burned out.  My printer will not work now because my software still has the old router numbers.  I need to put in the new router numbers.

My first question is is there a way to put in the new router numbers without having to uninstall the printer then reinstalling it with the new numbers.

My second question is (providing the answer to the first question is yes) where are these numbers residing in my computer so I can change them.

Hope someone can help.
Thanks,nemo

i dont think there is any way you can change the 'numbers'. is it a printer with an wireless card that slides into a slot or do you have the 3300 print adapter? if the latter i would suggest you reset the adapter, uninstall the adapter software and reinstall again. the adapter still carries information about your old network(with the old router) and as there is no user interface to modify any settings on the adapter the reset is necessary

do you have the same settings on the new router as you did on the old one?

this is just a suggestion, turn off the whole network(router, printer, 3300 adapter and all computers attached, either wired or wireless), then login to the router from one wired computer and configure the router exactly as the old one was configured, same SSID, security settings, wireless mode etc. and then power everything back and see if the print adapter joins the network. im not sure if this will work coz i dunno if the adapter stores only the network settings or even router specific info

Yes I have the 3300 adapter and I thought I probably would have to uninstall/reinstall.  Was just hoping for a shortcut.   Thanks. nemo
