Updated BIOS and lost Internet
I have an Inspiron 1501 and recently updated the BIOS for a battery message. Although that message is gone, now I can't connect to the Internet. The computer won't connect to my wireless, even though it receives the signal. When I tried to connect directly through the cable modem (even with a new Ethernet cable), the computer says that is is not connected.
Any advice?

How do I check or change the BIOS settings?
Please understand, my computer literacy doesn't go beyond operating basic software packages.

Restart PC.
Then hit F2 key when it starting booting up.
