First make sure you have the Vista compatible driver installation files available.  Then, boot into Safe Mode, go into Device Manager and uninstall the wireless network adapter.  Reboot into Normal Mode, cancel the New Hardware Wizard (if it starts), then run the driver installation file to reinstall the network adapter.  Let us know if this fixes the problem.

Try the following.  Go to the Intel web site and get the latest drivers for the Intel 3945 wireless adapter.   Then follow the procedure I outlined in my previous post to remove the existing drivers.   The reboot into Safe Mode and install the drivers while in Safe Mode.  Then reboot to Normal mode and see if it works.

Yes, it could be a problem with the hardware, but we are troubleshooting to try to eliminate all other possibilites first.

In the BIOS setup program you need to look under Onboard Devices and make sure that the MiniPCI slot is enabled.   The link you posted to another message, doesn't work - it just takes me to the forum home page.

under OnBoard devices,i found

 1) Integrated NIC : Enabled and Enabled w/PXE

 2) Internal Modem : Enabled

 3) Media Card and 1394 : Enabled

 Is it working fine ?

The slot is enabled, so the device should be working.  If you are still getting the message when you try to install drivers, then it appears that your wireless network adapter has a problem.   If you are still under warranty, you should call tech support for service.
