US Robotics 5610b

I had heard on here about the US Robotics 5610B modem and how it solved alot of people's connection problems. Before I had connected at 31.2 everytime. I went and bought that modem today and I tried it without an init string at first. And the same thing, 31.2. So I tried that init string +MS=V90 and at first it would start to connect and then it would disconnect so I tried it again and right now I am at 36. I was wondering if anyone knew of other init strings to try or anything that might help my connection. Thanks

Now whenever I try that +MS=V90 init string it wont do anything. It says there is an error with the modem. I just reinstalled all of my software onto my computer to start fresh, ofcourse that did not help at all. I am regretting buying this Dell computer now I think that they are JUNK. I have never had problems like this with any other pc that I have owned.

Have you used the "Control Center" that was on the CD ? Check for "Up-DateS" ( there was one for mine). Did you check the "Rate Adjustment" in the Config.Manager in the Control Center ?
