Hopefully somewhere on the bottom of the wireless router is gonna be a tag. And hopefully it will say mac address. It looks similar to this 00-A1-11-22-BB-CC. It could also be on the box that the router came in. If you cannot find it there then the instructions that came with the router should tell you how to access the setup functions of the router and you should be able to find the mac address in there.
And by the way, the next time you call your ISP don't mention that you purchased the router from Dell. Just tell them you purchased the router and that you want to use it with your ISP service. Hopefully that will kill the built in run around that raises its ugly head in dealing with ISP's. :smileymad:
By the way, do you have a cable/DSL modem box (should be ISP provided)?

Thanks for the replies-sorry it took me a little while to reply I was at lunch. Anywho..............I spoke with a rep at Dell and they said that I needed to let my ISP set up a wireless network. Then to call them bk and they would configure the card. Then I called my ISP provider and said I needed a wireless router. i told her that I had one already , that I purchased with the Lap Top and they said that Dell would need to configure the wireless card that is already(??) in the lap top?? I am so not computer savy enough!!!! Anyway, some one from my ISP is suppossed to call me back and make sure that I get it conneected. I sure hope it is today!!!!! Thanks again
You will probably need to provide your ISP with the mac address of your router. It sounds like the router and the ISP are not "chatting" with each other.
Try that and see if things clear up for you.

What kind of internet connection do you have? If it is a cable connection (rather than dsl), are you resetting the entire network everytime you change the device connected directly to the modem. I sincerely doubt that you have to clone the MAC address as other users have suggested (this would only be necessary with rare ISPs).
