Vista computer disconnects XP computer from internet

I have a netgear wireless router and my XP Inspiron 8200 connects and stays connected just fine to the internet.  When I use my Vista XPS 1530 wirelessly on the internet the XP gets disconnected from the internet but stays connected to the router.  They both have a unique address and seem to be setup properly.  Anyone with ideas?

Are they both wireless?

both are wireless.  the inspiron/xp has a netgear pci card which works fine when it is the only one on the lan.  The xps/vista has the dell internal wireless and it works fine.  when i surf the net on the xps it knocks the inspiron on the net.  the inspiron stays on the router and if i 'apply' my settings in the netgear smart wizard, it will reconnect until the xps interacts with the net.  the inspiron does not disconnect every time the xps sends/recieves but between 1 to 5 interactions.  thanks for the interest.

What happens if one of the two is using a wired connection (with wireless removed or turned off)?
