Vista Internet Explorer paging slow

Any one knows How to tune up the vista internet explorer.

I have a cable connection. Every time I check the internet speed it clocks some were around 6600 KBPS.

Up to there is just fine. But as I surf I notice the pages do not load any faster than with a 720 KBPS DSL connection.

Striming Videos are ok. It has something to do with the Browser.

Perhaps the settings need adjustment or something else. No idea with Vista.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

If you are connected via Ethernet boot to Safe Mode with networking and see if the speed is still slow. If it is not then the problem is most likely your firewall or privacy settings. Also, in Vista there is a phishing filter that sometimes makes the loading of pages slow.

Agreed that the phising filter or an over zealous virus scanner is at fault.

I am running xps 410 duo core 2.13 2g ram . I have mcafee 3yr plan .  Is deleting mcafee and
going with another security center the only answer. Could it be some how the windows security
center is operating and slowing the inetrnet. Try calling mcafee they solve nothing and mess up
my sound and video . do to a bug or something why having me shut parts of mcafee security.
I wonder why Dell is not doing more to fix this problem
