vista win mail cannot send emails

I have not been able to send emails for a month.  I have done chat 8 times with comcast and paid for chat through dell.   They all say the problem is with winmail.

No one will help me at winmail.  I have gone through many forums etc and see the same problem but never a solution.  Can some one help me?

I have checked the connection 8 times and that is good.  I have cleared my email scanning by Trend.  I have done everything that I have seen on the internet and I still cannot receive emails.

 I am desperate !!!!!!!

There is no message in the outbox.  It does not give me an error  message, it just goes in the sent box but no one ever gets the emails.  I keep trying to send to myself to double check and never get anything

I am so sorry .........I thought I was making it easier to read.  I didn't think I had used all caps.

I have been in a chat with comcast 8 times.  I have done all the checking of ports and have discontinued my email scanning and taken down firewall.

dell inspiron vista win mail

what is the error message you are getting?

Check your outbox and make sure there are no messages stuck in there. If there is you will need to delete them.

Peanut7,

The bold print is bad for my eyes, you may as well be shouting(using all CAPS and then no one will help.

Comcast.net email setup is found HERE. Please make sure to read number 14, it's very important.

If you're using a WiFi Hotspot, some block the feautre of using an email program, so you're forced into using the webserver. Some wireless routers also block this and if you have one, you may want to check the router and the firewall you're using.

What email program are you using?

Have you tried checking the comcast mail on the website? Go to comcast.net, click on the email and enter your user id and pw. The Comcast email will open up. See if you have any messages shown there. This is the server that the email program gets your messages from.

I dont run winmail any more I switched to Live mail might be another choice to look at.

Yes I have gone to comcast.net and I can send and receive from there.   I had 8 chats with comcast and have gone through all that.

I have gone to Live mail but the problem is I have many things business related in my winmail.  I was fine for 3 years.......out of the blue it stopped working

I have tried checking comcast mail website.  I can send and receive from there.  I had 8 chats with comcast and have done all they can think of.

I have so much in my win mail saved for my business purposes that I hate to have it not working.   I did open a Live mail account until I get this solved.

I had been sending business emails to all my customers and only accidently found out they were not getting them.  They go into the sent box so I think they are

sent but no one gets them.

Penut7,

I tend to agree with everyone, the problem seems to be with winmail.

I would be using Mozilla Thunderbird, like I'm using now. It's FREE and will work with Comcast.net as well as many other email addresses.

If you decide to use Mozilla Thunderbird, if you check leave message on the server, it will be there for you in case you need to use it that way.

Penut7,

Try disabling Trend Micro, then send the emails and see if it works. Just thinking maybe the virus scanner is intercepting it because of the attachments that winmail sends.

I did that already.   I have done soooooooooooo many things and yet it still does not work.  For a computer illiterate person  it is very frustrating.

thank you for your help.

Try booting into safe mode with network support. Test the email there.

Try uninstalling your firewall. Sometimes even just disabling isnt enough.

I don't know if that would work but................  I'm not that computer savvy to even start trying this.      Thanks!
