Vostro 1220 Bluetooth connection Problems

Can Anyone help me. Feel like I am banging my head against a brick wall! I have a dell vostrol 1220 (with windows 7 home premium) and I managed to connect my HTC Touch HD phone to the computer with bluetooth with no problems at all. I could use the computer to listen to music from the phone etc. However the hard drive went on my dell and was replaced. I have installed all the necessary drivers and spent days looking at internet forums and tried just about everything and can still not get the connection to work as before. It seems that the problem is that the computer cannot download a peripheral device driver for the phone. My guess is that the computer is not picking up the full phone settings (all the phone is visible) and so can then not find a suitable driver, although I might be wrong. Anyone got any ideas, this is so frustating as it used to work ok. I have tried installing latest drivers and this does not seem to help.
