Hi,

Since it's an Intel product have you tried their Intel Driver Update utility to see if it can recognize the bluetooth module on the N7260 and find a driver for it?  Also, Intel has a newer Proset / Wireless driver for the N7260, Version: 18.33.0  Date: 1/21/2016. Not sure if updating the wifi driver portion of that card will cause it to recognize the bluetooth portion or not.

If the diagnostics are running on the card and not showing any problems then hopefully the Intel Driver Utility will find it and update the driver as well.   To make it easier for me to troubleshoot this problem please right click on my dell Todd username and send me a private message with the Dell Service Tag of your Vostro.  Please keep all troubleshooting discussions here in this public thread so that others can see what is discussed.

Thank you,

Todd

Hi Todd,

I've installed the Intel Driver Update. It upgraded the driver to version 18.32.0, requested a reboot, but nothing changed. Then I manually installed 18.33.0, rebooted, same thing. A minor difference is that now the Bluetooth icon disappeared from the Action Center.

Thanks for now.

Hi,

Just so we cover all bases here, you said that you checked and confirmed Bluetooth is enabled in the systems' BIOS but did you confirm that it's turned on in Windows 10?

Also, check in Device Manager to see if Bluetooth is simply "hidden" and not actually missing

  1. Bring up the start menu. Search for "Device Manager".
  2. Go to "View" and click "Show hidden icons"
  3. In Device Manager, expand Bluetooth.
  4. Right click on Bluetooth Generic Adapter and update the driver.
  5. Restart.

Last, check to make sure that Windows 10 power settings haven't turned off bluetooth.   Go to the Windows 10 power management settings, power plan, performance plan, and check to make sure that none of the settings are disabling Bluetooth.

Hi Todd,

I don't have Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth. The Bluetooth option appears only when I plug in my old Bluetooth dongle.

Bluetooth is not hidden, it's actually missing, that's something I've already checked before.

As for power management, even Advanced mode does not have any Bluetooth settings. And all my tests are done with AC power, no battery savings mode is activated.
