vostro won't boot up

Question

Hi I have a vostro 200 with intel dual core processor running windows vista with a wireless mouse & keyboard My problem is that when i press start all i get is the fan runs for 7 seconds then the monitor shows a black screen with dell in blue in the centre and underneath bios revision 1.0.8 in the top right hand corner i get F2 = Setup F12 = Boot Menu I have tryed pressing those keys but nothing, also pressed i think every key on keyboard nothing. i have tryed new battries in the keyboard and tred disconecting keybord same also disconected everything from the case except the monitor same i was going to try cable keyboard but there is no where to put it in the case as i purchased the lot from dell as aunit and keyboard and mouse are usb wireless

Did you manage to fix this problem?  - I installed some windows updates which I don't normally do and got the same problem  2-3 days later!

Hi i solved the problem by changing the battery on the motherboard

when you do chage it (they are only £2) check your bios settings as i kept getting looking for drive0 which is apparently a floppy drive and i do not have one so go int setup and diable the floppy if you get the same.
