Look at the icons in the bottom right hand corner of ur puter. Is there a red and blue one there? u might have to hit the arrow pointing to the left to see all the icons. If you have the icon does it say "bluetooth manager" when u put the mouse on it? If so, then right-click on it and then click "start bluetooth" go through the aggreement and then try.
blue tooth is an option, so you may or may not have it - check device manager.
the reason for the presence of an indicator LED? blue tooth is an option, but they didn't want to make different plastics, etc for systems that did not have blue tooth installed.
Okay, I believe that our laptop does not have Bluetooth. :-( I did a scan here on DELL.com and it showed all the hardware on my PC, and it had nothing called Bluetooth...oh well. :-( Is it possible to buy something and place it in one of the ports on the laptop to enable bluetooth?
And If you dont like the USB BT Adapter to be protruding out, then u can go for an Internal Bluetooth Card which will be a
Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Module and u can Install it yourself. The slot is Located Near the Battery for the E1705.

I think the current model is the 355 or 360, still, same basic idea.
One screw holds the cover on the slot next to the battery, module plugs right into the end of a cable in there. You should be able to order it from Dell for $30-40.
