Thank you for responding! I downloaded the test shockwave/flash player from the site you sent, but truthfully, I don't know what it does, and my website looks the same on my computer--no graphics. This is the website: ritakuehnsblog.com. If you have any other thoughts on this, I'll greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
I get it, you cannot see the images on your website, after yoiu update the page, correct? You need to clear the cache in order to see the updated information. I had to when I took care of my friends website. You will need to add coding in the form of meta tags to disable this feature. Please read this article. There are other websites with this information but if I remember correctly, the coding looks correct. Try doing a search on the use of meta tags, they're very important for your website to get notices by search engines.
Internet Explorer the settings are...
Tools, Internet options, browsing history, delete, then delete tempory files.
My browser is internet explorer, and I deleted the temporary files, but I still don't get the image on the web page. I can see the theme images in thumbprints before I assign them to my blog page, but then they don't appear on the page. Coincidentally, as I'm writing this note format, I cannot see the images for the writing tools, like; bold, italic, underline, etc. I see the boxes, but no images. I wonder if it's all the same thing.
Thanks for the info on the meta files, I'll have to check up on them. Any other idea, pass them my way. Thank you for your help, Rick!
Start, control panel, internet options, advanced. Click on the restore advanced settings. make sure the box under multimedia says show images and make sure the boxes above it, like play animations on website, enable sounds and autmatic image resixing are checked.
Close internet explorer wait 20 seconds, then open it.
I reset the advance settings and then restarted my computer, but nothing has changed. I'd also reset security levels, but that didn't help either. It's frustrating! It seems that it should be easier to fix than this! Thank you for your input, and if anything else comes to mind, let me know. Thanks, again!
Just a thought: could add ons becausing a problem for me.? When I look at the list of add ons that I have, I see several that say: browser helper. What do you think about that?
Just wanted to let you know that I downloaded Firefox, but I still don't see an image on my website with my computer, just like I don't see the little icons on this note I'm writing. It's driving me crazy! I've disable everything I can think of but with no luck. How can my computer be so squirrely! I guess I'll have to use the desk top computer to work on my website but I don't like having to give up on seeing graphics on my laptop. Maybe it's the Windows XP, I've never liked Windows XP! Anyway, thank you again for all of your suggestions. I tried every one of them.
Windows XP is very easy to repair on a Dell Computer. I usually recommend that the person make backup copies of files and folders that they cannot afford to lose. If your computer(s) would crash today, would you have these files and folders? I used to take care of some ladies website and the hosting company had a power surge(I think it was a thunderstorm) and the server took a hit. It was down for a week. When the website came back up, they told everyone they'd have to upload their images again. Many of the websites there didn't have copies of their images, so they had to basically start over. I had her images on a disk, still do to this day, and if it would fail, had her website up and running in 8 hours. Enough rambling, here's what I'd do next.
Insert the operating system disk and restart your computer. If you do NOT have one, if in the United States, click below my signature and request a backup set of disks.
Press any key to boot from cd.
Choose install
Do the agreement
Now choose repair. Leave the disks in until you see the Welcome Screen. Takes about 35 minutes. You'll need to get all the Windows Updates, again
Everything should be back to normal again, images and all.

RitaKu,
Do you have the latest Flash Player?
Adobe Test Shockwave and Flash Players
If this doesn't work, maybe you could provide a link to the website in question.

I use Mozilla Firefox and the setting there is...
Tools, options, advanced, network, cache, clear now.
I hope this is what you're looking for.

Rita,
Browser Helpers Objects or BHO's are notorious for causing problems. I use evry little BHO's so maybe that's why I can see everything.
Try using Mozilla Firefox and see if you can see the images. It is a much safer browers, too.
