Hotmail is much slower to open than normal or just won't open at all.  Ebay site seems to work fine, as does a few others.  This just started a couple of days ago.  I have rebooted, defraged, virus scanned and nothing seems to work.  I'm at a loss as to where to go next.

im not completely sure,  this has happened to me before for certain sites but it recovered a couple hours after.  just to be sure try all the basic procedure as in unplug internet cable, wait then plug in again. if ur using a local area connection unplug it then wait a bit then plug it in again. try things like that and try changing your homepage to something else and then going to yahoo.com then post back.

Try searching Microsoft's Knowledgebase for article #813444 (use only this number for the search). The article is titled "Error message when you try to access a Web site in Internet Explorer: 'Page Cannot Be Displayed'"

After looking into my error message logs I have found the following:

Friday, October 13, 2006 Dhcp Your computer has lost the lease to its IP address ***.***.***.* on the Network Card with network address ************. (I've hidden my IP addy of course)

What the heck does that mean? Should I call Dell or my service provider????

It seems you're experiencing difficulties accessing the Yahoo home page. This could be due to a variety of reasons, ranging from internet connectivity issues to browser-related conflicts. To troubleshoot the problem, first ensure your internet connection is stable and reliable. Next, clear your browser's cache and cookies, as these temporary files can sometimes interfere with website loading. If the issue persists, try accessing Yahoo using a different browser to rule out any compatibility issues. Additionally, disable any browser extensions or add-ons you may have installed, as they could be interfering with the Yahoo website. Finally, check Yahoo's status page to see if there are any reported service disruptions. If the problem remains unresolved after trying these steps, consider contacting Yahoo's customer support for further assistance.
