WGR614 v6 causing BSOD - how do I fix this??

I  have been trying to set up the WGR614 on our dimension 8400 computer. I get everything properly connected and then it crashes the computer to a BSOD, saying the error is http.sys. It also says Page fault in non paged area. This crash only happens when the router is plugged in. Once it is diconnected the computer functions normally. I turned off all antivirus and firewalls.

I tried calling netgear and they could not help me.

Any information would be appreciated

Thanks!

I assume you are using the "cd" to connect to your netgear?

Remove the CD and use your web browser only. Open a browser like IE and type http://192.168.0.1. The default username is admin and the default password is password, or on older routers 1234. Click Setup Wizard and follow on-screen instructions to configure the Internet connection.
