What is ActiveX??
I try visiting a webpage but all it says is that my security setting prohibit be from running ActiveX controls on this page. I tried moving several things but nothing will work. Two days ago I went to this web page and it was fine, I had no problems accessing it. But now this message appears and I don't know what to do....I would appreciate the help, thanks

To fix your problem...I suggest you open Internet Explorer..click on TOOLS then INTERNET OPTIONS then PROGRAMS tab and RESET WEB SETTINGS
Then click on the ADVANCED tab and RESTORE DEFAULTS.
This should allow things to work again...I am not sure why this happens but it has happened to me a couple times.

Hi, thank you for your reply...someone had suggested me to change my internet options settings to 10mb. What do you think? He also suggested me to download these files: CLEANUP.exe, EClea2_0.exe, and Spy Sweepern 2.6.exe. He said this might help. I would like to know what do you know about this and what do you think. I'd appreciate your reply, once again...thank you.

Once again...thank you for taking your time to reply my questions...so 100mb is what is mostly suggested, because before I changed it, mine was at 2383mb. That's when they told me it was too high. But if 100mb is most commonly suggested then I guess I can change it. I hope that if I have other problems I can maybe use your help....Thank you for explaining things. Why would you think it was so high?

If you change from 100mbs to 10mb..you will slow things way down. I do not recommend it except as a last resort.

What you suggested did help...thank you very much, I just wanted to know if the person who was telling me all this was really trying to help. That is why I asked you, and that is why i kept writing to you because i saw that what you suggested helped at once. thank you, hope i can count with your help later on.

Glad it worked.

One other item...many times if you have connectivity type issues to the internet...try one of the following first.
1. Right click on the "two monitors" icon in the taskbar and select REPAIR. NOTE: if there is no such icon..then go to Control Panel, then Networking...rightclick on your network connection and check the box that says to "Show icon on taskbar"..this should put one there..
2. If the above does not work then shutdown the computer..turn the modem (and router if you have one) off for 30 seconds...then Power up modem/and router then power up the computer. It will take a few minutes for the modem to renegotiate the connection.
