Hi,

You dont have a miniPCI modem. You have a MDC, ( modem daughter card ) modem. It is under the door on the base. You may be able to see a brand on it, or a lable on the base. It may be a PCTel modem, p/n 0E828, as these were common with your model.

Hi,

From the product support tab above, go to downloads and select your model and OS. Then download the PCTel driver and install it.

Hi,

If disabled in Bios it wont work. You may not need any drivers.

Hi,

Try to re-enable it. If you use the cursor keys to get there, you should see instructions to re-enable it. Failing that, hit Alt and " F " , that will reset all the Bios settings, even date and time.

Hi,

The modem may be faulty. The common cause is being plugged in and a lightening strike nearby. They are quite cheap, so if you are still having trouble, I would replace it. That modem also can cause the audio to fail, is yours OK ?

                                                                                    Regards Chris

Hi,

If the modem is not seen and enabled in the Bios, you wont be able to load the driver. you can give it a go, but you may need to replace it. Was it working before the upgrade ?

                                                                              Regards Chris

Hi,

It may have been faulty when you got it. If the Bios and device manager dont like it, it wont work. http://www.parts-people.com/index.php?action=item&id=1305&prevaction=category&previd=18&prevstart=0 This is a link for a modem that may be suitable.
