Without knowing which model computer you have and which network adapter you are talking about, it is very difficult to answer your question.

Well, You are right: My Notebook is an Inspiron 8600 with Windows XP Pro and with the original Dell True-Mobile 1400 Internal Dual-band WLAN wireless MiniPCI card factory included... In the downloads options under "Network Drivers" there are drivers that say:

Release Date:  07/14/2005 Description:  Download this driver only if you reside in the United States. This release supports the Dell Wireless 1350, 1370, 1390, 1450, 1470, 1490 and Dell TrueMobile 1300, 1400 series MiniPCI and PC Card devices (not USB).

But under other option they state:
Release Date: 06/30/2005 Description: Download this driver unless you reside in the United States or Japan. This release supports the Dell Wireless 1350, 1370, 1390, 1450, 1470, 1490 and Dell TrueMobile 1300, 1400 series MiniPCI and PC Card devices (not USB).

So, my questions are: since I travel a lot between different countries...

Which driver should I install?

Can I have problems in the USA if I install the one for people who reside outside the USA?

or Can I found problems in other countries if I install the one for people who reside in USA?

and... WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES AMONG THE TWO DRIVERS FOR THE SAME NETWORK DEVICE???

THANKS FOR ANY ILLUMINATION:smileywink:

George

I would install the U.S. driver and download the other one in case you need it.  Install the U.S. driver.  If you find yourself in a country where it doesn't work, you can install the other driver.

Thank You Vulcano,

I will do it and then I will see....

It will be more "illuminating" if I culd know what are the technical specification that are different between the two drivers... and their options...

Any Way thank you a lot,

George:smileyhappy:

Most of the differences have to do with the a band (which is not used very often anyway) and which channels are available for the a band.  If you are using the b/g band, I doubt that it will make much difference.

Thanks again Dear Vulcano,

I´m departing from South America in my way to USA. I will try to use the driver installed now and then if I have problems I will try the other one.

Thank you again.

George
