Why does Laptop only allow WEP Security?

I have hardline internet coming into my desktop through Comcast.  I recently hooked up a N150 WNR1000 V2 router.  Both connections, (hardline and wireless) work fine for both my desktop and laptop with an open, unsecured connection.  As soon as I set any sort of WPA encryption to it, it becomes an Unidentified (Local Only) and I cannot access the internet any longer through the laptop, the desktop still works fine.  However, when a WEP security is set, I can get access just fine through both wireless and desktop.  When I had AT&T I never had to set up anything in my laptop, it all worked fine, but as soon as I switch to Comcast, it has become an issue. I am running Windows Vista on both Desktop and Laptop.

On the Vista machine, try running Finding System Information, remove the product ID and post back here.

Try using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings, I use channel 11. I would try changing the SSID to make connecting easier.
