Solved. I took the back plate off and it was visible that the White wire was not connected as it should be. Once attached my laptop works fine.

Okay I have gone around now and tried most of the suggestions having worked out that the problem was something to do with the N1030 card inside it which seems to be quite problamatic;

Drivers came up as up to date, again I only got it today.

Turning Bluetooth on/off did not change a thing.

Turning "802.11n mode" on/off did not change a thing.

The only thing I have not tried was opening it up to check both antenea were connected as it seems they are not always? How easy is this to do on the XPS, it is quite easy to find or should I get a technician in?

And further down the line you will be getting told your warranty is void...
