To start the radio, Fn and F2 together ?
What is managing the wireless? Is it Windows? Is it special (proprietary) software?
Are you at a business office?
Home?
Does your wireless use WEP (encryption, security)
Other details?

Use Device Manager | network adapter(s) | click "Configure"
Look at the Power settings and make sure you CLEAR the checkbox 'Allow to turn off the power' (to save energy).
Also, if you have any carry-around phone(s) then try using channel on the edge for your WiFi, either 11 or 1

Before your notebook (wireless) stopped working, did you take it somewhere else and hook it up to wireless there (travel)?
If so, what had to be done to make it work there?
More details.
Which SSID entries show up in 'Show all wireless networks'?
What happens with each when you click on it and then click Connect ?
