Does your issue sound familiar to one I posted earlier? See http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=netwkint&thread.id=34035 for more details.

When does it drop?

I think this is your issue.

By defualt, the Vista firewall is set to drop "Echo Requests" (pings) from a router.  The wireless router is pinging the client to make sure it is still there in order to continue sending the signal.

In XP, this is an easy fix, however......within Vista you must creat a firewall exception rule to allow ICMP (Internet Connectivity Mgt Protocol) requests.  Google that and you will see how it is done.

If you are uncomfortable with this, create a restore point before you begin and a reversion back to that poitn will be easy.

for both your replays.  Choachy, no, your situation is different than mine, mine is just at random.

Jmwills, I belive that could be it.  I've read something here I belive just like that firewall exception.  I'll give it a try.

Thx,

Andrés.-
