Wifi looses files!

Hello All,   I have a problem with my new Dell Inspiron. I have a wifi network at home. A desktop Dell linked by wire to a Linksys WRT54G, an old laptop with wifi pcmcia card which work well and my new Inspiron with onboard wifi. I am sharing files of my desktop to my 2 laptops. The problem is when I browse the desktop directories from my new laptop in some of them the 2 ot 3 first (maybe more) files in the dir are missing. But in fact they are not. I can see them from my old laptop and from the desktop.   I becomes crazy... what could be the problem??   Best regards,   Frankie

It could be they are system files and the new notebook's XP settings are to not display system files.  That would be a folder setting in Windows Explorer.
