Windows 8.1 Bluetooth Not Working. Disappeared !!

Hi, I have a Dell Studio XPS 1645 Laptop.

It originally came with Windows 7 64-bit and Bluetooth capabilities. Until recently my Bluetooth was working perfectly fine. Then I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and my Bluetooth stopped working and disappeared from my Device Manager all together.

I have tried downloading the Bluetooth driver for my 370 card as well as other suggestions I found online, such as trying to run the Broadcom update, or going into the driver folder and manually installing the init file on compatibility mode. So far no success.

I was wondering if anyone might have some ideas as to how to get my Bluetooth to work again, or even show up on my Device Manager.

Any help would be greatly appreciated it! Thanks!

If its not showing in the Device Manager software solutions won't help. Press Fn and F2 or toggle the wireless switch on and off.

If that doesn't do anything. Power down your Dell and when powering it up press F2. Enter the BIOS setup and disable Bluetooth (or change what the wifi button does). Let Windows load and give it a few minutes. Power down the system and then re-enable the Bluetooth in the BIOS setup.

Ok, I was afraid of that. I will try what you mentioned and let you know if it shows up. If it does I'll try the software solutions again! Thank you!
