Windows 8.1 Dropping network share connectivity

This is happening on all of our Windows 8.1 machines. Everything works fine on Windows 7 and under.

Every so often, the computer would loose access to a network shortcut or mapped drive. A couple reboots fix the problem. It also drops after I create 2 or 3 network shortcuts.

I am not sure why, but Dell tech support is struggling. Does Microsoft need to get involved?

Please watch the video file below. Sorry, I had to black out some things as a security measure. You should be able to see what is happening.

Hi,

Not sure how much help I can be if the tech support agents are having problems as well, but I can try.  I did a quick google search and found this discussion that may be relevant.   The resolution posted there seems to be specific to systems and networks using Win 8.1 Professional version and deals with editing the group permissions policies.  Not sure if it is applicable to your issue.

Not sure if you have Credential Managers installed or active on your systems or not, but it seems to have done the trick for the people in the thread listed above.

I hope this helps.  Please let me know if you haven't yet resolved this issue.  Or if you did, using a different way than that link suggested, what did resolve the problem.  I'd be interested in hearing.

Todd
