Windows mail Attachments

Hope somebody can help me.

When ever I receive an e-mail with an attachment, I cannot open the attachment; I first have to save the attachment to a folder and then open the attachment from this folder; this problem has only occured in the last couple of weeks. Before that all I had to do was to Right Click on the attachment in the inbox and the file would open. Anybody know how to resolve this problem as it is time consuming having to save every attachment to open it.
