WIndows Startup stalls -> ipconfig /release appears fix issue

I am having an issue with my D600. After I log in,  I appear to get an ip address from my

internal WiFI network, but my icons don't show up on my desktop and I can't do anything.

 

I have to launch the cmd.exe application through my Task Manager which then allows me

to issue the "ipconfig /release" command. This appears to let the notebook finish the rest

of the install.

 

Any reason why this would happen? I do have the latest release of the Intel Pro/Wireless

drivers for the Intel 2200BG Built-in Wireless adapter.
