Go to Start > Run and type services.msc then hit the Enter key.  Find the Wireless Zero Configuration Service, double click it and make sure that it is set to start automatically.  If this doesn't solve the problem, please tell us which make and model wireless adapter is installed on your computer.

Open the Dell Wireless utility and make sure that the box next to "Let this tool manage your wireless networks" is not checked.

You probably had a conflict between the two utilities and by unchecking that box, eliminated the conflict.  I have always preferred to use the Windows utility, as it works quite well.  The Dell Utility is thus unnecessary.

Thanks this works!
Any reason why I should use DELL uyility for the connection?
BTW even the utility spotted my wireless network it never worked. Did I have to do something to make it work?
Thanks.

You might try the Software - Linux form.
