Wired ethernet connection only connects in safe mode, identifying loop in normal boot up
Running an Alienware Area-51 and recently my ethernet connection will get stuck with a yellow ! over my network icon and I will be unable to connect to the internet. Wireless connection is unaffected. Clicking the icon to have the system try to repair it comes back with "Ethernet cable not connected" I click "Check to see if problem is fixed" and it comes back with "Network device doesn't have a proper IP configuration". Now here's the strange thing, when I go to restart, it will hang in an endless loop where it says "Shutting down..." in the middle of my screen which almost always causes me to have to hard shut down. Occasionally, (seems to be very random) I will reboot up and instead of a yellow ! over my network icon it's a red X and when I click it to have the system self repair it comes back with "Network adapter is disabled" I click "Try these repairs as administrator" and everything works fine and I have connection...at least until I shut the system down again.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I've tried disabling and re-enabling the network adapters but like I said, when it switches to a red X and I'm actually able to repair the connection seems to be very random.

Hi kscorp,
Alienware Area-51 comes in different variants (laptops and desktops). Please share the exact system model and the operating system installed. Also paste the screenshot of ‘Device Manager’ with ‘Network Adapters’ expanded.
Keep me posted with the information. I will be glad to assist you.

It is a desktop system running windows 7 64 bit. I can't paste you a screenshot since the only way I'm able to type this is in safemode right now (or at least i don't know how) but the two devices under Network Adapters are: Broadcom Netlink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet 1 and 2.
