wired home networking
Hi. I would like to setup a home network that is wired. I have a comcast broadband modem. I want to know do I have to have comcast's permission to set up the network. They want to charge $149 for installation of the network and I can do it myself. Any help will be appreciated. annrice44.

I have 2 pc's hardwired into a US Robotics model #8001 router. This particular router, also, has a USB print server which allows me to print (one printer) from either computer. For more info on this router, go here.
I, also, use RoadRunner (about to become Comcast). Personally, I'm about to dump RoadRunner/Comcast and return to DSL. In my area, DSL runs circles around RoadRunner/Comcast. At peak times, RoadRunner is almost as slow as "dialup". Good luck!
