Try booting into Safe Mode, going into Device Manager, uninstalling the wireless adapter, rebooting to Normal Mode, and reinstalling the drivers for the wireless adapter.

Thanks for the suggestion Steve. It is resolved once the "driver" from the dell site was installed.
