Wireless Adapter - Windows Update and USB Mouse

I've got a Dell Inspirion 1525 with Windows Vista Home Premium.

I've routinely had problems with the Wireless Adapater loading (and showing in Device Manager), which of course prevented me from getting a wireless internet connection when I turned the radio button on.  Anyhow, I think I possibly resolved some of that by reseating the wireless card a couple of times.

I almost never move this laptop.  It sits on a desk near the kitchen.

This morning the system downloaded a Windows Update, and the wireless was working great.  Windows needed to restart the computer to finish the updates.

After rebooting, the wireless adapter did not reload, therefore no wireless internet connection.  I didn't move the computer at all, so it would seem that re-seating the card again wouldn't be the issue.

Does it seem reasonable that something about rebooting the computer with Windows Updates completing could cause the wireless adapater to have a conflict while that process completes??  After shutting down the computer a time or two and rebooting I finally got it to reload the adapter (where it showed in Device Manager).

The other question I'm curious about is if a Microsoft Wireless mouse (with the USB receiver stick plugged in) could somehow cause conflicts at bootup time and prevent the wireless adapter from loading??

Sorry for so many questions...I'm just trying to figure out some possible cause for the sporadic problems I've had recently with the wireless adapter not loading (showing in Device Manager) when I first boot up the computer.

I went to microsoft support and they took over my comp to trouble shoot they are very helpful. I would suggest getting some info from them. because I have no warranty, Dell is unable to give me answers. I found that my LPv4 and 6 were not connecting. Netgear was also not helpful.
