Wireless Adaptors

I just set up my Inspiron 537 which is 64 bit and as I have a router already, went to buy a wireless adaptor but was informed that the wireless adaptors are only 32 bit? Does anyone know if you can but a wireless adaptor for my desktop (64 bit). I am a novice user and thought they were are compatible.

By 64 bit, do you mean you are running Windows 7 's 64bit version?

If so, you need to buy an wireless adapter that has drivers for that particular flavor of Windows 7.

The Dell system is 64 bit.

I bought a Linksys Wireless N USB Network Adaptor today and the device would not  load. When I called support they sais it was because the wireless adaptor is 32 bit and my system is 64 bit? Si they said I need an afaptor that works on a 64 bit box as it is quicker than the 32.

1. You don't need a wireless adapter, the Inspiron 537 comes with a wired LAN connection.  Why not use that? However Linksys does make  an PCI adapter that would work, assuming you have a free PCI slot - model WMP600N
