I have an XPS 8100 and I am experiencing dropped connections to internet when I am connected to the router or the modem via a wire. But when I use my wireless USB adapter connection to the wireless router and the internet is flawless. Dell tech support thinks I have issues with the motherboard and has ordered a new one for me. Someone mentioned reinstalling windows, but I don't want to that just yet. I will let you know what the outcome is when I get/install my new motherboard.
