Wireless and Wired

What happens if one has a computer with a wired LAN cable plugged into the NIC, and a wireless adapter active on the computer at the same time? Does one take precedence over the other? Do they fight for dominance? Any conflicts caused?

If you probe into the advanced Settings tab of TCP/IP, you will see something call a Metric Setting.  Like golf, the low number wins and wired will take precedence over wireless.

Well, thanks for the info. I saw that setting when I was setting up the wireless connection a few days ago and wondered, briefly, what it was for.
