wireless at home
I just got this notebook today. As I tried to set up my wireless access I noticed that my home wireless system show unsecured. Does that mean anyone can access my wireless network from the neighborhood? If so, how do I secure it? How do I access the network once I do secure it?

Yes, anyone within range can access an unsecure wireless network. See the following:
