wireless b and g together

I already have a linksys BEFW11S4 (b standard) router. I recently got the D-link 624 router which is .g compliant. There are some parts of my house which receive signals from both. How do I tell my Truemobile 1300 mini pci card (inspiron 8200) to connect to the best available signal at that point of time.

I'm not 100% sure, but I'll throw in my idea.

You should be able to choose when you click on the wireless connection in the system tray. You'll see a new window open up and it asks you which network you want to connect to. Select the one and hit connect.

Another thing is that in the wireless connection settings, you can catigorize which preferred network you wish to connect to by putting it in order from preferred to least preffered.

I don't think that it can connect to the best signal automatically, just whichever one is avaiable and at the top of your preferred list.

Hopefully this helps you out.

I haven't tried it, but you could set the 1300 for g only connects.

Since the "g" router is also supportive of "b", replace the Linksys and only run the one router.

I am using the b router for areas which are not covered by g router, but there are some places where both of them work.

Then the only hope is to have them on different channels.
