Wireless Card Causing Studdering Audio

Is it possible that my wireless card is the final source of my audio woe? It seems that whenever I disable my Dell Wireless 1500 card the audio plays fine, but if the card is enabled, even when a connection is not present, my audio becomes annoying and choppy. One of the reasons for getting a laptop was to use the universities wireless hotspots, my reason for selecting the E1505 was to have an entertaining laptop, however this ruins my reasoning.

I have the same problem on my e1705/9400.  Whenever there is any significant network activity going on (e.g. a download, refreshing a server list) my mouse gets sluggish and my audio stutters.  I looked at task manager and one of the cpu cores was at like 90%.

I'm hoping a simple drive update will solve this problem, yet I would assume that Dell would have published this simple solution. I understand from some other forums that the only way to free you processor is to reformat by reinstalling your XP OS, which I would readily have done had I not spent upgraded to Media Center. Does Dell send out media center installation CD's at request? Could I possibly avoid and expense by downloading the OS and then entering some CD key, it so where would I find the CD key?
