Wireless card issues??
I have an Inspiron 1501 with the Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN Mini-Card and I am having serious issues with wireless connections. It isn't just one connection either, its multiple ones anywhere. Here is what it does:
When I start up my computer my network adapter thing is immediately disabled. I enable it and it starts to find the network. It connects to the network for about 10-15 minutes and then it disconnects me. It refuses to reconnect for at least 30 minutes to an hour and sometimes it never reconnects.
As I am typing this, it has disconnected/reconnected 3 times. I cannot figure out what is wrong because every other computer around me, some Dell - some not, are able to connect just fine! It will connect to the internet if I plug it into the modem or router directly. It's the wireless networks that are giving me issues. Please someone help me! It's really frustrating when I'm trying to do homework and it is just going off and on randomly. Oh and the computer isn't even a year old yet. I bought it back in either February or March of this year. Thanks for any and all advice, this is really starting to get on my nerves.
Edit: I forgot to mention that the computer does find all networks, as in I can see them in the 'available wireless network window', but it refuses to connect when I click on them.

Has this wireless issue been a recent development, or has it been on going since you got the laptop? Have you recently updated the driver for your wireless adapter?

Okay so here's what I have figured out about when the problem started. The wireless has worked just fine up until I moved in July and started using a cable modem and that's when the issues started, so I keep my computer plugged straight into the modem all the time. So the issue seems to have started after I started using the other internet and keeping it plugged into the modem constantly.
I have updated the adapter about a month ago, but it didn't seem to help- it actually made the adapter stop finding most of my networks, so I rolled-back the update (I think that's what it is called lol).

Firewalls are all disabled. The only firewall I have is the Windows Firewall and I keep it turned off. I have enabled it just to see if it would help, but it didn't do anything.

Open the compartment cover for your wireless card. Check that the card is firmly seated and the antenna cable connections are secure.
Refer here. If that doesn't solve the problem? Likely your wireless card is faulty and will need replacing.

Okay I opened it up and checked everything out. The card seemed to be securely plugged in and both of the antenna connections were secure. I am about to boot up my computer (I'm using another right now lol) and see if it made any difference. I popped the card out and then pushed it back in just to be sure. It did connect, but I'm not sure how long it will stay connected.
Thanks so much for the help! I think I'm gonna call Tech support sometime this week and see if they'll replace it anyway since the computer is still under warranty.
