Wireless card missing

Hi, I am a real novice to this. I bought my 2200 so that I can take it with me to Florida to answer my villa enquiries. It duly arrived but according to the specs I should have a mini PCI card to be able to use the wireless option. I have sent 3 messages to the suport team but have not even had an answer. Any help as to what to do next ??

If you have proof on the order acknowledgement, then Dell owes you some $$$.

It would be on the original stuff that I saved with the order I presume ?

Typical, it is on the specs on the Dell site, but I have just checked my order and can't see anything about the PCI card. Does anyone have a phone number ? , it might be better to phone. Still if all else fails I supose I shall just have to buy one. I think I have to buy a router anyway. ( not that I even understamd what a router is !!! )

If it is not on your acknowledgement, then forget it and buy one at retail.  Linksys, Belkin, D-Link, and Netgear all make good equipment.  Just be sure to match the compnenets from the same vendor.

Absolutley.  Depending on how fancy you need to get, with regards to speed, you can make an 802.11b model work very well.  It will be almost as fast as the newer models and a lot less expensive.  It's faster than your internet connection so don't let some slick salesman tell you need an 802.11g or PreN model to get a faster speed from your ISP.

Just to give you an idea:

Is it OK if I come back to you with any questions regarding what to get ??

Brilliant , thanks. I don't really need the wireless thingy while I am in Florida as I don't have broadband, but can do the ordinary dial up by downloading budgetdialup and I get 10 hours free then just top it up as I need it. ( well thats the general idea anyway !! )

You seem to have the above issue sorted now.

Had a similar query with my Inspiron 9100 recently, with a similar response from Dell Support (None.)

However, I finaly realised I had failed to put something(anything) in all of the boxes on the: -
'CONTACT US TECHNICAL SUPPORT' page.

Once I realised, completed and resent the form. I had a full and helpful response within 24 hours.

A bit late for you now, I know. But may be useful next time.

Thanks for the reply, no it's not too late, I did have a reply from the suport but not very helpful as the link they gave me kept coming up with an error.
