Wireless Card not getting IP from router

Question

I have a Intel PRO Wireless 2200BG WIreless Network Connection on Inspiron B-130. All was wroking fine and dandly, when suddeny one day, the wireless connectivity on my laptop showed 'Limited or No Connectovoty'. At first I thought it was a router issue, but then I tried a friend's router and it gave the same issue. When I checked the wireless card config. on the laptop, it showed 00-00-00 MAC. So I unistalled and re-installed the drivers for the wireless card and MAC appeared properly, but the problem still persists. I tried connecting through ethernet to the router and that gives the same problem. However connecting to the cable modem directly throgh ethernet, without the rotuer has no issues. Apparently the laptop is unable to get an IP from the router. I have banged my head against this one. Hi anand,   As you said the computer works fine when connected to the modem, the problem lies with the router. Which router are you using here? Every router will have reset button. Perform reset as per the Router manual and it might fix the issue for you.   Rgds Chris

Hi Chris,   Actually the modem connects directly via the ethernet and not wireless. So I dont think we can rule out the wireless problem in my laptop yet :(.   Regards, Anand.
